 MINISTRY VISION

preparing kids to follow jesus in a way that children love and parents trust.

In our Sunday programming for children from birth—6th grade, we strive to create the first building blocks of a strong foundation. We teach from the Scriptures and help parents proclaim to their kids who God is and what He has done in the person and work of Jesus Christ. In our class time we sing, dance, and teach the Bible, focusing on our six foundational truths: God made everything, God is in charge of everything, God is good, Jesus came to save sinners, God wants to talk with us, and the Church is God’s family.

SUNDAYS

6 WEEKS TO KinderGarten

Starting at 6 weeks of age, babies and toddlers are cared for by faithful volunteers in a warm and loving environment. Divided in rooms by developmental stage prior to age 2, children are loved by volunteers trained in caring for our smallest attenders! Starting at age 2, preschoolers will learn basic Bible lessons through pictures, play, and crafts. If you have questions, please email Carrissa Delaney.

GRADES 1 THROUGH 6

During 9:00 am worship service, your child will go to a smaller sized class for an engaging Bible lesson, Bible memory, review games, and prayer.

During our 10:30 am worship service on Sundays, we have Kids Church – a time of singing and motions, hands-on Bible experiences, and small group discussion. If your child attended Sunday School at 9:00 am, they’ll automatically transition to Kids Church. It may become the highlight of your child's week! If you have questions, please email Christie Whalen.

WEDNESDAYS

Pioneer Clubs take place on Wednesday nights in Hockessin from 6:45-8 pm, during the months of October through April. We follow Pioneers DELTA program which stands for Disciples Equipped for Life Transformation and Action.

Pioneer Club integrates spiritual and personal development to help today’s kids learn to follow Christ in every aspect of life. Each week we will do a Bible lesson, a game, and an activity skill to help your child develop meaningful life skills, build relationships, understand how to live a Godly life, and most importantly know Jesus Christ.

If you'd like to learn more, please reach out to Christie Whalen.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

9:00 AM - CLASSES FOR 6 WEEKS THROUGH 4TH GRADE

  • Babies through PreK may join their classrooms beginning at 9:00 am

  • Kindergarteners through 4th Graders attend the praise and worship time in church and are then dismissed for Kid’s Church* where they learn fun ways to experience God in their lives.

10:30 AM - CLASSES FOR 6 WEEKS THROUGH 6th GRADE

  • Babies through 2s may join their class at 10:30 am

  • 3-year-olds through 4th Graders are encouraged to attend Sunday School. Each week, with the use of The Gospel Project, Bible stories come to life through video, music, activities and more.

  • 5th and 6th Graders are encouraged to attend Sunday School. We feel that 5th and 6th grade are formative years when kids are ready to dig deeper. Through The Gospel Project and Loop series, along with engaging videos, games and discussion, we want to encourage them to start thinking for themselves.

*Kid’s Church is not provided during the summer as it gives children an opportunity to sit in church with their parents.

OTHER COMMON QUESTIONS

ILLNESS POLICY

While we know that we cannot eradicate any possibility of illness, we do our best to consistently attend to details to try to maintain a safe environment for our children and volunteers.

Each week, we thoroughly clean and disinfect our classrooms including surfaces, toys, and linens. We also ask that volunteers wash hands before entering classrooms and that both volunteers and families consider others if feeling ill or had exposure to illness. We don’t aim to overcomplicate things. We want our families and volunteers to come each week to serve, be fed, and experience community. We do however, realize that when it comes to children, extra care and attention to detail communicate love. Please review our illness policy at the link below.

What curriculum do you use?

During our 1st service, children attend Kid's Church. Our 3-year-olds through kindergarteners have Lil'K videos with creatively taught Bible stories and active learning. Our 1st through 4th graders use the "What's in the Bible" curriculum. During our 2nd service, Sunday School is provided for our children ages 3 years through 6th grade using the Gospel Project curriculum.

I have a child with special needs. Do you have a way to accommodate him/her?

We believe every individual is precious to God and made for a purpose. We strive to meet the needs of every child, regardless of the different ways that they learn. In order to accommodate for these needs, we have put in place a “Buddy” program.

An adult is paired with the child who has special needs during the typical activities of a church morning. These Buddies support those with special needs so that they can participate to their full potential. Each Buddy has received training and has completed a background check.
